5 problems to solve

The first step to creating a monetary solvent project always is to identify a problem. We all stumble upon lots of modern society's problems, but we rarely stop and think "Hey, maybe I can solve it, perhaps even make money out of it". And, let's face it, this latter thought is what really matters to us at the end of the day (Go capitalism!).
So, as a group, we took some of our precious time and started to think about real-life problems which we can solve; and these are some of the best ones we encountered (Spoiler alert: we are actually solving one of these):
  • Batteries on mobile phones don't last enough time.
This is a problem that affects virtually anybody, since we all have smartphones nowadays.
The market is currently offering lots of solutions to this problem -mainly portable batteries- but they are definitely not the solution we all want, since they are mostly not self-charging, and those that actually are, are extremely uncomfortable too because you have to charge them manually with a generator.
  • Small things are too easy to lose.
Problem affecting everyone above maybe the twelve years old (when most kids start wearing their home keys). The things we keep in our pockets or bags, for example keys, wallets and mobile phones, can be easily lost. Some ideas have been sold, like small chips that can be tracked. The problem with most of those is that you need your mobile phone to track them, and it could be that either you don't have your mobile phone with you or that the mobile phone is the thing you lost.
  • Time spended while driving is unproductive.
Problem that affects anyone that spend some weekly time driving. Lots of hours are wasted while we sit on our car, hours that maybe could be used to do something more, like learning or finishing some work. Some devices like Apple Car have tried to make it more easy to not be bored, and there are podcasts made to learn lenguages by listening, but it is still limited what you can do as you drive.
  • People waste too much time thinking on what to wear.
No offense intended but this is mostly a feminine problem, affecting specially teenagers and middle-aged girls. The market has currently not many solutions to this problem, since you cannot tell people what to wear everyday, or can you? We are working on an intelligent mirror, which will actually suggest you what to wear anyday based on the weather forecast, your clothes and what you have been wearing lately. Sounds good right?
  • People wonder if they really closed the car once they are far away from it
This is a very common problem that happened at least once to everyone that drives or owns a car. Lots of times people forget if they closed their car once they are far away, or in a situation they can not go back to their car without leading them to a problematic situation, like losing a train or giving a bad impression to someone because they are late. A good answer to this problem would be an application for your phone that connects with your car to tell you if your car is been closed or not.

We have decided to develop the fourth problem, and try to create an actual business out of it. We are really excited about this project because it has an important technological component, and will test our UX abilities and design capacity. We also think that with our current knowledge and competencies, we will be able to achieve an acceptable final result.
